IP Address

What is an IP address?

An IP address, or Internet Protocol address, is a numerical label assigned to each device connected to a computer network. It serves two primary functions: host or network interface identification and location addressing.

How is an IP address structured?

IPs come in two formats: IPv4 (32-bit) and IPv6 (128-bit). They consist of sets of numbers separated by periods (IPv4) or colons (IPv6), uniquely identifying devices on a network.

How to change an IP address?

To change your IP:

  • Use proxies that act as intermediaries between your device and the internet.
  • Give a shot to VPN (Virtual Private Network) that reroutes your internet connection via their servers.
  • Restart router that can sometimes assign you a new IP from your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
  • Contact your ISP and request a new IP, though this method may vary in availability and feasibility depending on your provider.
  • Switch from Wi-Fi to cellular data if you're using a mobile device..

Remember to consider the legality and terms of service when using methods like VPNs and proxy servers.
